AFRICAN EGGPLANT YALO

(solanum aethiopicum L.)
 
Open field variety perfectly suited for cultivation in tropical areas including the rainy season. Slightly bitter taste, used for sauces, also grown for its leaves which are consumed as spinach. Fruit shape is globe, light green background with thin, dark green stripes. Sowing in nursery and transplant after 4 weeks. Planting (5/6 leaves stage) in rows 60 cm apart x 40 cm on the row. Maturity : 60 – 70 days after transplant. Fruit weight : 100-120 gram, Fruit size: 6-6.4 cm length x 7.2-7.4 cm diameter. Plant height is 40 cm – 50 cm. Fruit shape is round.Very high yield. High Diseases resistance.
